BJJ Fightgear 10 year anniversary!
Since our launch in January 2014, BJJ Fightgear has quickly become the #1 specialty store for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling gear in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. We offer Europe’s largest assortment of BJJ Gis, Rashguards, Grappling Shorts and accessories such as ear guards and finger tape.
Because we have been dedicated to providing enthusiasts with top-notch gear for 10 years now, we decided to write a short article to look back at this amazing period.
One of the standout features of BJJ Fightgear is its extensive range of products sourced from leading brands in the Jiu Jitsu world. Over the years we have worked with brands such as Ground Force, Fuji, Tatami, Kingz, Hyperfly, Wartribe, Storm, Raven, Future Kimonos, Defense Soap, and many more. We built relationships and imported brands from all over the world, so that European customers had access to products that were previously difficult to obtain, especially in an e-commerce landscape where consumers would not often buy products outside of their home country yet.
Later, online shopping became more internationalized, and BJJ Fightgear acted as exclusive reseller and distributor for many foreign brands. In 2017 it also introduced its own store brand, Ground Force, which has now developed into a fully independent brand of its own and offers a unique value proposition with its Made in Europe Gi and Nogi products.
Having our own brand allows us to keep better inventory, and produce Jiu-Jitsu products that our customers are asking for. In order to improve the customer experience, and offer a wide assortment that caters to different kinds of customers, we will introduce more BJJ Fightgear Original Brands in the future.
The old website in 2014
Back in 2013, when the idea for BJJ Fightgear came to life, there were not so many Jiu-Jitsu schools in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany yet. Our store has grown together with the community, which has seen a rapid growth of practitioners, academies as well as Gi and Nogi tournaments. Where we started out on a single desk with a few cabinets of inventory, we now operate a 400 square meter warehouse solely dedicated to housing Jiu-Jitsu and grappling gear and fulfilling orders across Europe and the rest of the world.
Another hallmark of BJJ Fightgear is our dedication to customer satisfaction. With a user-friendly website, seamless ordering process, and fast delivery, we ensure a hassle-free shopping experience. Moreover, our customer service team is composed of passionate individuals who share a genuine love for the sport, making them well-equipped to provide expert advice and assistance to customers whenever needed. Although our office dojo (where we would roll during lunch breaks) has not survived the Covid lockdowns period, most of the people on our team still train Jiu-Jitsu or have trained in the past.
